Transitioning collaboration from on-premises to cloud - best practices

Today, moving collaboration and communications to the cloud is a no-brainer for many companies. It is easily accessible, easy to purchase and acquire, and is, for the most part, easy to understand for end users. However, many enterprises, and especially larger ones and those within special sectors, are reluctant to move their UC&C to “the cloud”.

This session looks at best practices for how enterprises can retain their ownership and control of UC&C infrastructure, whilst moving securely to the cloud. How to simplify management, reduce costs, increase scalability, and at the same time rest assured that their platform is theirs, and no one else’s.

Virtualisation, Mobility and the Convergence of Voice and Video with the Digital Network

Digital disruption has reached a tipping point: Organisations have to transform, or become irrelevant.  And it's the delivery of applications, data and now even telecoms traffic - both voice and video - at speed, on any device, simply and securely, that's central to this transformation. What does this mean for the network now everything in the organization is digital?  Ian Evans from VMware will talk about the digital network and the fundamental roles that virtualisation and mobility have in delivering convergence: from Unified Communications as a virtualised application, through to solving the technical difficulties supporting UC on a virtual desktop, to managing a UC application on a mobile device along with all other apps.

It's Past Time to Restructure the Internet for Better Security

Recent mass Internet attacks have highlighted how easy it is to take down large parts of the commercial Internet by targeting Domain Name Servers (DNS). They have also exposed a fundamental security flaw of the Internet: a packet-based architecture that is more than 30 years old and that makes it way too easy for adversaries to map and attack foundational services like DNS, as well as specific websites and cloud services. With so many businesses and other organizations relying on the Internet for their essential functions, it's past time we beefed up our Internet security by graduating to a flow-based networking architecture.

In this presentation, RingCentral's Senior Vice President of Cloud Operations shares his thoughts on why today's aged Internet security is no match for modern security demands, and how we can fix it.

Solving UC&C quality issues in Contact Centres

Delivering high quality services in your Contact Centre is critical to your long term success. They are often the first touch your customers and partners have with your organization when they need your help, and consist of technologies designed to deliver a more engaging experience when they connect to a specialist or agent (wherever they may be) allowing your customers to spend more time, and of course, more money with your business.

This session explores how NETSCOUT users have solved key UC&C service issues in their contact centres, reducing MTTR, and finger pointing across IT functions, so that effective communications aren’t hampered by poor call quality, excessive call waiting times or application availability.

Driving UC&C user adoption: making it individual, personal, and simple

Organisations invest in UC&C solutions to drive productivity and employee collaboration. Still, many struggle with user adoption, and getting the desired results. This happens especially in organisations with diverse solutions for communications, and no simple way of combining them.

Data shows that personalising and creating individual solutions lead to a strong increase in user adoption. This session discusses user requirements, experiences and expectations for how organisations want to, and can drive user adoption, and showcases several examples.

Contextual communication: How to transform customer engagement with task-based, friction-free comms

Communication is richer than ever before, but whilst tools are often successful on their own they are siloed and lack universal interoperability. If you try to introduce a customer or supplier to that ecosystem, "unified communication" becomes anything but and our external interaction all too often falls back to a bleak telephony and email world.

WebRTC is already being used to make comms more web-centric and open. At the same time, we're getting more used to switching efficiently between high-attention, synchronous communication mechanisms like phone calls, and low-intrusion, asynchronous tools like IM.

How are businesses using these trends to transform customer engagement?

How to make enterprise messaging secure, private and controlled in today's Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) workplace

In this session NURO will discuss the problem enterprises face from their employees bringing BYOC collaboration apps into the workplace. Mobile group collaboration apps will account for half of all team coordination and communications by 2018 (Gartner). Yet fewer than one-in-ten companies today actually have processes in place to regulate its use. The session will examine the size of the problem along with potential threats. It will also ask who should be most concerned and suggest ways to make collaboration secure, private and controlled without inconveniencing device owners.
