Shure Enhances Encrypted AV Conferencing Solutions for Business
Monday 21 May 2018
Shure Network Audio Encryption seamlessly integrates with IntelliMix® P300 Audio Conferencing Processor and Microflex® networked AV conferencing microphones
Powerful and robust combination improves the protection of confidential conference content
Shure will demonstrate its market-leading encrypted audio solutions at UC Expo, Europe’s largest unified communications and collaboration event at ExCel London. Shure’s range of premium networked AV microphones will be demonstrated in addition to audio technologies to suit any AV conferencing application.
Shure Network Audio Encryption creates secure networked audio connections between Shure products. This protects against eavesdropping on the network thereby safeguarding confidential content without compromising audio quality.
Both wired and wireless applications benefit from a user-configured pass phrase on each Shure device, allowing Shure Networked Audio Encryption to be combined with other network security measures to create a multi-layered security solution.
“Networked audio is key to establishing unified communications and improving decision making and collaboration in the global workplace,” said Richard Knott, Project Manager at Shure Incorporated. “Our aim is to share our experience with IT teams and work alongside them to ensure high-quality audio isn’t just limited to the boardroom, but across all meeting spaces, with systems capable of delivering natural clarity of sound and image on each and every occasion.”
Shure Network Audio Encryption is available with Microflex® Advance™ ceiling and table array microphones when used with the IntelliMix® P300 Audio Conferencing Processor and selected Audio Network Interfaces. The P300 Audio Conferencing Processor offers Shure IntelliMix DSP algorithms that significantly enhance audio quality in video meetings, with a variety of connectivity options, and 3rd party IP-based solutions for AV conferencing.
“Confidentiality is a concern for all types of organisations,” said Chad Wiggins, Senior Category Director, Networked Systems Products at Shure. “As audio moves onto the IT network, it is important to control who has access to it. This is a valuable tool in the IT manager’s security toolbox. While no network is completely secure, Shure Network Audio Encryption can be combined with other network security measures like device access control and network partitioning to create a multi-layered security solution.”
Shure Network Audio Encryption is available with Microflex® Advance™ Ceiling and Table Array microphones, the IntelliMix P300 Audio Conferencing Processor, and selected Audio Network Interfaces. Microflex® Wireless will be supported later in 2018. The feature can be added to these products already installed in the field through a firmware upgrade.
