Smarter collaboration and a look at our future workplace dominated discussion on Day One

London UK, 16 May 2018: Smarter collaboration was the theme of the day at UC EXPO 2018, as Europe’s largest dedicated Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) event returned to ExCeL London in its 13th consecutive year.

Day one of the two day event kicked off with a thought provoking keynote from collaboration legend Snorre Kjesbu, VP/GM of Cisco Collaboration Endpoints Technology Group. Kjesbu delved into the next evolution of collaboration technology, covering how it can accelerate productivity, enable better decision making and build trust in a rapidly changing market. He also provided attendees with insight into about some of the current technology developments being done at Cisco using live demos.

“As our ways of working change and evolve, UC&C technology is increasingly important for organisations. The exhibitors and speakers at UC EXPO have really given delegates plenty of food for thought today on workplace collaboration practises and how they should be thinking about the future with their investments in collaboration technologies,” commented Bradley Maule-ffinch, EMEA Portfolio Director for UC EXPO.

Beyond the opening keynote, some of the day’s most popular seminar sessions focused in on current and future collaboration challenges:

  • Dr Nicola Millard, Head of Customer Insight & Futures at BT Global Services Innovation Team provided delegates with a study of collaboration conundrums.
  • Tom Arbuthnot, Principal Solutions Architect at Modality Systems, also provided a hugely popular session on collaboration, looking at collaboration in the future in Office 365.
  • Michael Affronti, VP of Product at Fuze unveiled the companies latest research into the workforce of the future, and how collaboration technologies can help to unlock human potential.
  • Blair Pleasant, President and Principal Analyst at COMMFusion, chaired up a lively panel discussion on how to maximise team collaboration with Doug Jones of AT&T, Johann Butting of Slack, Snorre Kjesbu of Cisco and Tina Shepard of Microsoft.

Day two of UC EXPO opens tomorrow (Thursday 17th May) at 9:30am. Make sure you don’t miss out one of the only UK appearances of social engineer Christopher Hadnagy, with an opening keynote on the various ways organisations are getting hacked.
